Quest 2011 Facility Management

Key changes

Key to Quest 2011 is the introduction of three different levels of assessments.

Quest Entry is a one-day, operational assessment aimed at smaller and community sites.

Quest Plus is a two day assessment, which includes a one-day operational assessment plus the option to select day-two modules.

Quest Stretch will feature an unannounced day-one assessment, plus a second day validation focussing on a centre’s approach to measuring impact and outcomes. This advanced award is designed to challenge sites that already have an excellent rating and wish to push themselves even further.

Another change is that sites will no longer receive a percentage score, instead they will be awarded a banded score with ranges unsatisfactory, satisfactory, good, excellent or outstanding (which can only be awarded to sites participating in Quest Stretch).

All new assessments carried out after June 1 will be against the new format, and please note that there is now a threshold score for health and safety compliance. If a centre does not reach this threshold the will not achieve full Quest recognition.

We are delighted to inform centres that our prices have reduced.

 Quest Entry

This is a yearly one day assessment that costs £850 per year. The centre will receive a mystery visit and a one day assessment on the eight core modules of Purpose, People and Operations.

 Quest Plus

This is a 2 year cycle with a mystery visit and a 2 day assessment in year 1. One year later the centre will have a second mystery visit and a 1 day assessment. The mystery visit in year 1 will be an informed visit – this will be conducted by people who work in the leisure industry, the mystery visit in year 2 will be an uninformed visit – this will be conducted by people who do not work in the leisure industry.

The centre will be assessed on 8 core modules on day 1 of year 1 and 5 modules on day 2 of year 1. The centre chooses these 5 modules (one of which, whilst scored, will not affect the overall result for the site). The cost of those going through a two day assessment will be £1250 in the first year and £850 in the second year (if a site goes through their assessment not in the month they are due or are a first cycle the cost is £1450 in the first year and £850 in the second year).

Quest Stretch

This is a 2 year cycle with a mystery visit and a 2 day assessment in year 1 and one year later it is a mystery visit and a 1 day assessment. The mystery visit in year 1 will be an informed visit – this will be conducted by people who work in the leisure industry, the mystery visit in year 2 will be an uninformed visit – this will be conducted by people who do not work in the leisure industry.

The centre will be assessed on the 8 core modules on day 1 of year 1, this visit will be unannounced. Following on from Day 1, the centre will choose one module that either measures impact or outcome plus one of the following:

  • Working with National Governing Body’s
  • Legacy
  • Skills/people development
  • Contribution to health and wellbeing.

The cost of those going through a two day assessment will be £1250 in the first year and £850 in the second year (if a site goes through their assessment not in the month they are due or are a first cycle the cost is £1450 in the first year and £850 in the second year).
