Who is behind the NBS?

Sport England own NBS, which has operated since 2000. In September 2010 it issued two contracts for the NBS: Right Directions in partnership with Leisure-net Solutions is the NBS managing agent and can provide fieldwork support; The Sport Industry Research Centre (SIRC) at Sheffield Hallam University is the NBS analyst.

This partnership is designed to provide an effective service for helping local authorities to report the performance of their indoor sports facilities accurately, compare their performance with national benchmarks, and utilise this performance information to improve their service delivery.

NBS can provide fully trained and experienced research interviewers to help you carry out your fieldwork. This service is supplied via Leisure-Net, the NBS scheme manager, who are also one of the leading research companies operating in the leisure sector.
