Active Communities - Active Communities Conference

Our third Active Communities Conference is fast approaching, taking place at Stoke City Football Club on Tuesday 3rd October.

The one-day conference will discuss and examine how operators and active communities teams can increase participation and reduce inactivity across the sector.

Confirmed speakers include Ruth Alleyne – Sport England, Mark England – British Olympics Association, Neil Watson – Substance, Jane Ashworth & Gary White - StreetGames, Richard Millard – Places for People, Carl Bennett – Amber Health Insight and Dawn Hughes – EFDS.

Conference programme highlights:

  • Key Note addresses and Q&A session from Sport England, StreetGames, Substance and Places for People representatives – ‘Towards an Active Nation’

  • Interactive Workshop sessions around the new, improved Quest modules and cutting edge work to address inequalities and deliver high quality outcomes which are the themes of this “Making It Happen” Conference.

  • The Event also features a presentation from Mark England, the BOA Chef de Mission at the 2016 Rio Olympics, on the lessons from the Olympic success since London 2012 and how that could be replicated in our sector. Mark will provide a fascinating behind the scenes look at our athletes in action and the “no compromise” approach of the funding bodies.

Quest is the industry improvement and quality assurance model and the Conference will provide delegates with the opportunity to network and benchmark with others in our sector in the superb setting of Stoke City’s home ground. This is a great opportunity for existing Clients to share best practice whilst providing new Quest Clients with the opportunity to learn and explore the new improved Quest Active Communities Assessment scheme with others already in the field.
